The worldwide bestseller—now a major motion picture directed by Steven Spielberg.

In the year 2045, reality is an ugly place. The only time teenage Wade Watts really feels alive is when he's jacked into the virtual utopia known as the OASIS. Wade's devoted his life to studying the puzzles hidden within this world's digital confines—puzzles that are based on their creator's obsession with the pop culture of decades past and that promise massive power and fortune to whoever can unlock them.

But when Wade stumbles upon the first clue, he finds himself beset by players willing to kill to take this ultimate prize. The race is on, and if Wade's going to survive, he'll have to win—and confront the real world he's always been so desperate to escape.

I’m sure I can’t write a review greater than what has already been written about this great book. Triumph for nerds. Triumph for underdogs. Triumph for good and brave hearts.
  • Entertaining

Good story line. A bit too many references the to the 80s which sometimes detracted from the plot.
  • Ready player one is great!

I was sick and I had nothing to do so I finished this book in a day. It ended up becoming my favorite book. It’s fantastic and I recommend this book to everyone. I love this book and you will too. It also teaches you a bunch about American pop culture.
  • Overall great read

Definitely a great read. Very nostalgic to the point where it got tedious at times but felt necessary to let readers relate to the main character. Only complaint was that the last epic scene went by too quickly. Might have been because I was reading to fast but I wanted just a tad more on the climax of the scene. Still overall a great read.
  • It’s not a book, it’s a list of 80s things

    By Danbearpig42
This is the worst book I have ever read. I forced myself to get all the way through the first Twilight book, I read Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close to impress a girl (that should’ve been the first sign...) and this was a more painful read than either of those. DON’T DO THIS TO YOURSELF! Read some Brandon Sanderson instead!
  • 80’s Nostalgia !!!

Book was so much better than the movie like always. If you grew up during the 80’s like I did this book is a must read.

This an amazing book! This world is brilliant and could happen in the near future! It is so unique and creative. But also draws elements from Tron, Wreck it Ralph, and more amazing movies! It also references a lot of movies and stuff from the 80’s!!! A must read for any age!
